Moving into the Future
After 10 years as Chairman of the Department of Clinical Oncology and Director of the Hong Kong Cancer Institute at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Professor Philip Johnson has returned to the UK to join the Institute for Cancer Studies at the University of Birmingham. It has been a great privilege to have served as Deputy Editor of Oncology Forum under the guidance of Professor Johnson as Editor-in-Chief.
During Professor Johnson's tenure as Editor-in-Chief, Oncology Forum has gone from strength to strength with a steady increase in the readership, and the journal has also been made available on-line. The submission of original manuscripts and case reports as well as pictorial oncology have continued to increase, along with regular conference reports focusing on clinical and translational aspects of Asian cancers.
The practice of oncology in Asia continues to evolve. The multidisciplinary approach involving surgical, radiation, and medical oncologists is now increasingly accepted as the standard of care. As the new Editor-in-Chief, it is my sincere hope that Oncology Forum will become the platform for different groups of Asian oncologists to exchange research results as well as clinical practice experience. It is a pleasure for me to welcome Professor Tony SK Mok, a highly experienced academic oncologist, to the Editorial Board as Deputy Editor.
