Abstract
This report is of a patient with alveolar soft part sarcoma developing in an un-common primary site (the axilla) in a 60-year-old male. Wide excision of the tumour and disarticulation of the shoulder joint was performed and the patient was disease-free after 3 years of follow up. Alveolar soft part sarcoma is a rare tumour, with uncertain histogenesis and a relatively indolent clinical behaviour. This tumour is often seen in the extremities and trunk of young people. Aggressive surgery for primary and metastatic disease is the mainstay of treatment.

Key words: Alveolar, Axilla, Sarcoma
